Why I Keep Showing Up

It’s hard.

With everything going on in this country—the division, the fear, the uncertainty—it’s hard to keep showing up. Hard to keep believing that change is possible. Hard to keep fighting for something better when it feels like we’re being pulled in so many directions at once.

But I do it anyway.

Not because it’s easy, but because I believe in community. I believe in the power of people coming together, even when things are hard—especially when things are hard.

I believe in the quiet, often unseen work of nonprofits on the ground doing the real work. I believe in connecting people to causes that matter—helping them find their place, whether that’s on a board, in the field, or behind the scenes.

And I believe in play.

Not just for kids—but for adults, too.

Because play reminds us who we are. It reconnects us to joy, to curiosity, to hope. It heals what burnout breaks. It strengthens bonds. And it creates space to breathe, to laugh, and to simply be.

That’s why I do what I do.

I support nonprofits that are changing lives.

I connect people with meaningful ways to serve and lead.

And I create space for play—not just as a break from life, but as a way back to it.

If you're tired, I get it.

If you're overwhelmed, you're not alone.

But let’s not give up on each other. Let’s not forget that even in hard seasons, connection and joy are still revolutionary acts. Let’s keep showing up—for our communities, for our families, and for ourselves.

Because this work matters.

And so do you.

Call to Action:

If you're ready to reconnect, recharge, and rediscover the power of community—start by learning about the organizations doing the work that helps us all thrive.

These nonprofits are feeding families, mentoring youth, providing mental health support, building equity, and creating opportunities for us all to flourish. They need more than applause—they need advocates, volunteers, board members, and donors. They need you.

Let’s build something beautiful together.   Visit www.timewithty.com/timetoplay to explore local nonprofits, sign up to serve, or join us at Time to Play, where joy meets purpose and community becomes connection.
